Saturday was the SEHSCDS Annual Ball. A great chance to meet with old friends and to dance to the Ian Robertson band.
With much trepidation we all set off for the dance as this was the first time in the new venue at the de Havilland’s club Comet suite. After dealing with the tricky navigation to get to the car park where sat-nav users found they were taken to the bus only entrance, we were met by John Brace and Michael Vigurs. Everyone had taken the opportunity to dress up for the occasion and any concerns about the new venue were soon forgotten. We were all encouraged onto the floor by the uplifting tunes played by Ian Robertson and his band. In the light and airy hall there was plenty of space to dance to the traditional Scottish tunes we recognized as well as some more modern tunes given the Scottish dance twist. The evening was a delightful mix of old and new dances. We were guided through the evening by Sybil and Sheila taking turns to MC. It was nice to see dancers from around Britain as well as those that dance regularly with the club. Looking forward to seeing you all next year.
